Jane Flasch
Jane is the Investigative Reporter at 13 WHAM TV in Rochester, NY, where she’s worked for 23 years. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1984, she worked at TV stations in Wisconsin and Michigan before moving to WHAM TV in 1986. Jane anchored and co-produced WHAM’s weekend newscasts for 5 years, transitioning to daily reporting responsibilities in 1991.
Jane has written and produced thousands of news stories, news series, and documentaries. She has reported in many of the United States and overseas, including work in Germany and Soviet Ukraine.
She is one of the most awarded journalists in upstate New York, recognized by The Associated Press, the New York State Broadcasters Association, among others. She has won multiple regional and national Edward R. Murrow Awards, perhaps the most prestigious award in all of journalism. Jane believes in reporting that effects positive change, and pursues stories to achieve that.
Jane also lends her talents to corporate and non-profit projects: writing, producing, narrating and appearing on-camera.
Michael Bailey
Mike is a creative director, writer and producer with an extensive background in corporate communications, broadcast news and retail commercial production.
Mike started his career as a freelance videographer and writer. His specialty is in designing and delivering comedy-based projects for the corporate audience.
Soon after his graduation from Mount Union College in Ohio, he was hired by WHAM TV in Rochester, NY, where he started as studio technician, videographer and editor. Subsequently, he was appointed as the Special Projects Writer / Producer for WHAM, producing and writing for commercials and marketing presentations. After almost a decade in that position, Mike left WHAM to devote all of his energies to his own media company, Magpie Productions.
With nearly 25 years experience in TV and video production Mike continues to write and direct projects, coordinating video programs from inception to finished product. His clients include Chrysler, GM, ESPN, European Aeronautic Defense & Space, Peak Moore Enterprises, USA Swimming, and BBDO. He has been the recipient of the Silver Quill writing award, multiple Telly awards, and New York State Broadcasters Awards “Best Commercial”.
Mike continues to bring his creative approach to meeting support, corporate and training video productions, documentaries, video news releases (VNRs), Web-based media, commercials and live event support.
Gert Houston
Gertrude Houston is an eight time Emmy Award winning producer. Her programs, documentaries and stories have aired across the country and around the world. Clients include The Discovery Channel, CBS Sports Olympics profiles, NBC, ABC, PBS, The Travel Channel, Special Olympics, The National American Heart Association, and JPMorganChase.
Houston began her career in 1980 at WHAM TV in Rochester, where she worked in studio and location production before being promoted to Coordinating Producer of the then-popular "PM Magazine" show.
She moved to Washington DC, working three additional years with PM Magazine, then spent next the four years producing national entertainment, travel, documentary and sports specials for the FOX Network. There, Houston was honored with a total of twenty five Emmy nominations, of which she won five.
She returned to her native upstate New York in 1989. Today, an independent producer, Houston produces, writes and directs location based documentaries, television programs, corporate and non-profit fundraising videos. She hopes to continue "making a difference" with her work.
John Faulks
John has worked in media production since 1985. After graduating from SUNY Oswego, he started as a production assistant and tape operator at Telesis Productions in Rochester, NY. John quickly worked his way to online editor there.
In 1990, John joined the Media Centre, a media production group for Xerox Corporation based in Webster, NY. Over his 15 years there he rose to the position of Producer / Director, creating over 500 titles in the areas of corporate communications, training and marketing.
In 2004, John left Xerox to form Digital Vision Solutions. As a freelance producer, John manages projects from script to screen. He writes, produces and edits single camera productions. He also coordinates and directs live multi-camera events. This, and almost a quarter century of experience make Digital Video Solutions a popular choice among John’s production clients.
